The Toolkit To Facilitating A High-Performance Culture In Your Agile Scrum Team

When building Worldclass Software Solutions, we rely on our high performing teams such as our developers, to work together in order to produce innovative solutions in a timely manner. In order to do so, we expect a level of performance that is of high standard, whilst still incorporating best practices. It is up to the Product Owner, within an Agile team, to facilitate an environment in which the team can excel allowing the team to deliver at a high-performance standard.

Here are a few tools that a Pro aids in the contribution and maintenance of high performing teams.

  1. Ensure that everyone is tapped into the same ‘End Vision’

There is always a purpose behind building a solution. You need to begin with the question, “What is the team trying to achieve when building out this product and what problem is the solution trying to solve?” During the course of the build, there will be many challenges a team will face, but at the core, if the team is all tapped into the main purpose, they will remain unified and unswayed.

  1. Always establish the Roles & Responsibilities upfront

At the beginning of every build, it is imperative to have a Roles & responsibilities setting meeting with the full team present. The team should all understand how operations will proceed and what the expectations, roles, and responsibilities are across all members upfront, in order to create a foundation of understanding, respect, and trust amongst parties involved.

  1. Learn, learn and then learn some more

The concept of continuous improvement is what grows a strong Developer team to a High-performance developer team. There is not only one way to bake a cake and it is important to create an environment of continuous improvement. A product or even a feautre, is never fully done. There is always something to improve or enhance. This mindset is crucial when building software.

  1. There is never “too much communication”

When there are hard deadlines on the table and tickets to be done in a Sprint, it is often that developers put their heads down and get stuck in their work. The only issue here is that communication does fall by the wayside. Communication is crucial and can lead to the success or failure of the development. In order to work at a high standard, each of the members need to have a clear understanding of each other’s work, the process they are undertaking to solve a ticket and any blocker they may be experiencing. It leads to faster problem-solving and better team unity, which ultimately leads to working at an optimal level.

The toolkit does not end here, but it is a great place to start when building high performing teams. With #worldclass teams, come #worldclass solutions which will be the solutions that end up changing the world.
