At SovTech, we make use of Agile principles and the Scrum framework to deliver continuous value to our clients through the continuous release of new features with each sprint.

The Product Manager position require an individual to manage key client projects, manage projects using Agile frameworks and accomplish project objectives. We are looking for all levels of Product Managers with varying levels of experience across the teams.

Discipline Overview

  • Coordinate internal resources for the flawless execution of projects.
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget.
  • Developing project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
  • Develop a detailed project plan to track progress.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
  • Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule and costs.
  • Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques.
  • Report and escalate to management as needed.
  • Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders.

Skills & experience required

  • Experience as a project manager in software development
  • Experience in delivering projects according to the Scrum framework and/ or other Agile project management methodologies
  • University degree, in the fields of computer science or engineering for technical project managers (preferable, but non-essential)
  • Technical background, with understanding or hands-on experience in software development and web technologies
  • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills, written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid organisational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Jira, diagramming programmes (e.g. draw.io), MS Excel

Product Management Levels

Product Management

LEVEL 1: Associate Product Manager

Just starting your product career. You are still learning how to take on and deliver small/medium products, work with immediate peers, and communicate adequately (less than 2 years of product management experience)

LEVEL 2: Product Manager

You are able to take on larger and more impactful products, with less guidance. You are communicating with a wider level of key stakeholders, and are responsible for a broader set of product areas (2-4 years of experience being in product management)

LEVEL 3: Senior Product Manager

You are taking the lead on major products, with little to no guidance. You are communicating on a team-wide level, and responsible for a significant set of product success metrics (4-7 years of experience being in product management)

LEVEL 4: Lead Product Manager

You are leading entire product sets independently. You are communicating on a company-wide level, and responsible for a significant set of areas (perhaps all client relationships or a product suite). World class in at least one discipline. (7-10 years of experience)

Portfolio Leadership

LEVEL 5: Pod Product Management Lead

Is directly managing a small team of product managers, with some guidance from more senior managers. Involved in hiring and team processes.

LEVEL 6: Segment Product Management Lead

Is directly managing a team of Product Pod Leads, with some guidance from more senior managers. Is driving evolution of hiring and team processes.
